Charles O. Bauer

Charles O. Bauer was born on July 23, 1906. He was very dedicated to Masonry and gained several honorable titles and positions throughout his lifetime. Bauer was a Past Master of Mizpah Mt. Moriah Lodge #40 in Florissant, MO. He was also very active in Bellefontaine Chapter #25, Royal Arch Masonry, where he was a Past High Priest. In addition, Bauer also held the title of Illustrious Master - York Council #40 and Commander of Ivanhoe Commandery, Knights Templar. He became Most Honorable Grand Commander in Chief upon the death of his predecessor, Andrew S. Ryan in 1973. In 1986, 'Pop' Bauer appointed his son-in-law, John C. Belmar, to be his successor as M.H.G.C.C. Bauer's wife, Edna, passed away in 1993 and in 1999 he passed away as well.
